Enjoy free comedy at the Phoenix Artist Club

Published on 3rd Feb 2010
An afternoon of free comedy is promised for people looking for things to do in central London later this month.

On Saturday February 27th, the Phoenix Artist Club on Charing Cross Road will be hosting a special performance by Ivor Dembina entitled This Not a Subject for Comedy.

The Jewish comedian's act is based on his irreverent observations about Israel and Palestine and has been described by Time Out as "brilliantly funny in the face of tragedy".

Admission to the one-hour show is free, although a voluntary donation is collected at the end. Doors open at 3:30pm and the comedy begins at 4pm.

As well as being an experienced stand-up performer, Dembina has written about comedy for publications such as the Guardian and runs one-to-one courses for aspiring funny people.

The Phoenix Artist Club is located underneath the Phoenix Theatre, which may already be familiar to people going out in central London.
