Meet The Team
We wouldn't be able to help our thousands of members across the UK to socialise and connect with new friends without our fantastic team. So here's a little bit about the CS squad and what they like to do when they're not working!
Fancy joining us? We have several exciting new positions to fill, so what are you waiting for?
Sanchita
CEO & Founder
I'm the CitySocialiser who set up the network (with a little help from my friends). I love the vibrancy of city life and, apart from London, my favourite cities include Manchester, Brighton, Berlin and Barcelona! When I'm not behind my PC I love nothing more than sitting in the sunshine with friends and a cold pint (or glass of vino if I'm feeling sophisticated) and watching the world go by.
Jonny
Head of Community Operations
I'm based in Manchester and love the fact that there is so much going on in the city. Living in the centre with everything just 20 minutes walk away, means that I take full advantage of all the great restaurants, bars, music, art and culture on offer! I'm into music, movies and waste far too much of my life on my Xbox360. (I also follow the England Cricket team and Stockport County FC - but I don't let that get me down too much!)
Rachel
Operations Assistant (UK North)
Having returned back 'up North' after a few years in Brighton and London I have re-fallen in love with Manchester. I love the vibrancy of the city and there's nothing better than wandering round the centre on a sunny day - even if this is limited to a twice a year activity! Outside of work my passions are travelling and food, I try to combine the two as often as possible. I'm happiest when I'm surrounded by great friends preferably with a glass of wine in hand.
Meg
Operations Assistant (UK South)
I am an explorer at heart. Having lived in 5 different cities in the past 6 years I have been seeing many different corners of the world! Now that I have found my home in London I am ready to experience all that it has to offer. I love to cook (and eat!), Sunday afternoon drives, reading Hemingway with a good cup of coffee, volleyball, and I just can not resist a cupcake.
Karis
Design & Marketing Assistant
After 3 years studying in London I fled the big smoke to live by the sea in Brighton! It's great being surrounded by such a media buzz and all of the new exciting ideas that are born in London-on-Sea, and I enjoy being able to bring these influences to my job. I'm a social media obsessive and spend hours trying to consume everything in my Google Reader. Away from the internets, I love KISS, tattoos and travelling down the USA's west coast.
Owen
Marketing Assistant
I'm office's lovable marketing scamp. Originally from Cambridgeshire I'm a lover of the great outdoors (I'm especially partial to a bit of rock-climbing, a challenge when you come from the fens though!). When I'm not out in the wilderness I'm either in the kitchen rustling up some indulgent desserts or out in one of South London fine real ale pubs. You can also catch me on Facebook giving out those weekly prizes, so say hello.
James
Online Marketing Manager
Born and bred in Essex (it’s not as bad as that show makes out...honest!) but have been working in and around the City since I can remember. I took a year out to broaden my horizons, meet some great people and travel the world through 2010, so I am still re-acquainting myself with London. I am forever amazed at the number of new & different places and exciting things there are to do in the capital. You can never get bored and minus the standard pushing and shoving on the always packed tubes its easy to get around and explore!
Lucy
PR & Customer Relations
I moved down to London about 2 years ago and I'm absolutely loving living in the Capital! Originally from Liverpool it's so great to go out and see new places and faces every week. There is something going on every night of the week in London and you always feel like you're missing out when you have a night off. I especially love going to gigs, The Roundhouse is one of my favourite venues and I love the Markets, especially Spitalfields on a Sunday.
Shariff
Tech Lead
I have a passion for everything related to the World Wide Web: the technology, the design and the silly memes. I am always up for a drink and enjoy trying new places to go out. I moved to London a few years ago and what I enjoy the most is its diversity - whatever food, music or activity you're into, you can find it in its authentic form.
Tom
Front End Developer
I'm the obligatory out-of-place Yorkshireman of CitySocialising's London office. When not saying 'ey-up', enthusing about whippets or complaining about southern beer prices, I'm generally to be found dealing with the tech side of the website and helping members out with queries. Outside work you can find me hunting-down cash-deficient nights out in the capital, faffing with guitars and witnessing Hull City's delusions of adequacy.
Madeleine
London Community Manager
Although I have lived in London a couple of years, I still get lost.. Hopefully I will never run out of new areas to explore and new restaurants to discover. My favourite things include random touristy activities such as ghost tours and buses or comedy nights. I'm always on the look out for cocktails that look so good you take can't help take a photo and pubs with beautiful wallpaper... and of course meeting lots of friendly new people.
Sandrine
Birmingham Community Manager
I am a Brummie born and bred, and have never run out of things to do in this fabulous city, because it has evolved massively over the past couple of decades. I have a passion for food, people, fashion, travel, music and cocktails. I also actively attend the gym to allow me to enjoy my passions! lol Work hard and play hard is definitely my motto!!
Michelle
Bristol Community Manager
I moved to Bristol over eight years ago and love the diversity and vibrancy that the city has to offer. I am also fortunate to have the beautiful city of Bath nearby. Living near both of these cities allows me to fulfill many pastimes, including; walking, camping, listening to live music, or just sitting on a river bank in the sunshine with a large glass of vino watching the world go by. I also love to travel and have been very lucky to have visited some amazing destinations, with plenty more still to be discovered.
Lindsay
Glasgow Community Manager
I moved to Glasgow about 4 years ago and I settled in straight away. I love the vibrancy of the City Centre, in particular Merchant City. The city is renowned for great live music and there is great choice of live venues. As well as regular gig nights the city plays host to a variety of annual festivals, and I always try to get tickets for live events. There always something to do. Having lived a few places in my time I can say for certain that glasgow feels my home. And you can't get much better than the Glasgae Banter.
Armaan
Manchester Community Manager
To be based in Manchester for me means "live life king size!" because there is always something happening in the city. I love to socialise, meet friendly people & go for night outs. I follow extreme sports! I am into Salsa & Ceroc and a massive fan of country music! I enjoy other genre of music but Ideally I would dance the whole night away on 70’s/80’s music. I am into reading, swimming, photography, shopping, theatre, dinning out & movies but I like trying new things if they strike to me as interesting!
Vicki
Newcastle Community Manager
I am originally from Surrey but have lived in Newcastle for last 6 years. I came to Newcastle to do my teacher training and loved it so much that I stayed. I can’t ever see myself leaving this great city.
I love socialising and meeting new people and my main hobbies are swimming, reading, cooking (hence why I teach Food Technology!) and travelling.
Newcastle is such a friendly city and I love the wide variety or bars, restaurants, and the fact that there is always something new going on. Newcastle is much better that then town I came from where there are only 5 decent pubs and 1 nightclub., now I’m spoilt for choice! Most nights out you will probably find me with a very large glass of wine in my hand!
Mel
Nottingham Community Manager
Born and bred in Nottingham, I enjoy going out to the cinema and popping in to the pub of an evening. I love reading, and tend to read 4 books at the same time, which most people say is just strange but for me it is like changing television channels. Oh, and I like green sweets!
Ben
York Community Manager
I'm originally from Manchester but I'm currently studying at York Uni. I love my live music, cinema and comedy and I think its great that York has so much to offer not only in the regular places but in the small backstreet pubs and real ale bars!
Always excited to try something a bit different too, whether its a new movie or something out there like Rally Driving!
Love to meet new people and hear their stories, always something new to laugh at and learn about.
